James (Jim) Fraser:

Jim Fraser in Tanzania

Jim has decades of experience running his own businesses. After visiting Tanzania with his daughter Nicky, he realized that he wanted to help the people. The first plan was to start much needed reforestation, but soon the focus shifted to replacing Kerosene lamps by solar-powered LED lights.

Jim designed the original FlexiWay solar light which has been used all over the world. He lives in Brisbane, Australia and is the first contact for NGO’s and large clients.

Nicky has also been self employed from the age of 21.  Operating her own businesses for many years did not hinder her passion for travel.

Having travelled to 25 countries she has a great knowledge of cultures and people. Nicky’s strength is problem solving hence she heads our logistics and office operations.

Harry Kikstra:

Harry has used his University degree in Business Management to start 7summits.com Expeditions and ExposedPlanet photography. He is a well-known adventurer, has climbed the highest mountain on every continent (the 7 summits) and cycled from Alaska – Argentina.

His photographs have been published in magazines and books worldwide and he has written 4 books and is often booked for speeches and presentations.

Having organized expeditions in Africa for over 14 years, he has first-hand knowledge about the urgent need for solar-powered lights. Harry is in charge of marketing, (website and social media marketing) as well as the technical aspects and testing of the lights, and has co-designed the new version: the Solar Muscle. He lives in Patagonia with his wife and son.
